Kayak Kayaking And Canoes
What’s the difference between your Private Program and Personal Kayak Training?
Personal Kayak Training is purchased at a minimum of three sessions (one block) at a time. The sessions will be scheduled close to each other for two reasons: you can build on the skills you have recently acquired while they are still in your muscle memory, and the continuity will foster your rapid progression. Personal Kayak Training is more of a commitment than one or two Private Programs, but the cost is less per session. Our standards for instructors are some of the highest youll find anywhere, so that you have a great experience on the water Not only do the instructors have the best qualifications, they know how to teach, have the right personality, are patient, safe and can show you a great time. Assistant instructors are gaining experience by watching and helping the lead instructors. They have the same high standards. Alpine Kayak has been teaching since 1989.One should proceed with caution. Warm weather recreational kayaking should be safe for children if you’re using good safety practices.
What will I learn on a Kayak Australis trip?
We will teach you everything possible about the kayak during the trip. If you are already familiar with the activity, our expert guides will offer challenges to improve your abilities. We try to include information about tides, currents and the natural world around us on each trip, with many, many opportunities to observe and learn about the native plants and animals.
Kayak polo or canoe polo? Which is it?
Canoe polo originated in Great Britain, where the term “canoe” is used to describe all types of small watercraft, including both canoes and kayaks. The official name of the sport is canoe polo, but the game is played solely in kayaks. Many people, especially in the US, call the sport kayak polo because it’s more descriptive of how the game is played. To answer that question we are going to need a lot of information: What is your size? Height, weight, foot size, inseam, athletic ability, disabilities, etc..
How long do I have to wait to get a BBK kayak?
The wait varies from a few weeks to several months, and can change daily. Occasionally, we may have one of your model in stock. Please call to find out the current backlog. Caring, hand craftsmanship requires time and we will not sacrifice quality for quantity.First you need to select one or more of our sea or tour kayaking, river kayaking or rafting programs. At the end of each description of our trips, there is a button that says Reserve. You need to click on this, and you will get a Reservation Form that must be completed with the information asked for, then, send it by clicking on the button that says Send.
What kind of kayak will I be using and do they turn over often?
We use a mixture of single and double fiberglass and rotomoulded kayaks on our trips. The kayaks you will be using are chosen with comfort and stability in mind. We rotate all of the guests around in the kayaks so that everyone has the opportunity to try both styles of kayak. In regard to turning over, it happens VERY infrequently but if it does our guides are fully trained and can get clients back into their kayak very quickly.
What should I do to maintain my kayak?
To help maintain Little Wing’s finish, we recommend that you wash the salt off with soap and water after ocean paddling. It is best to store Little Wing in a dry place out of the sun.No. That suggestion is seen in general sea kayaking manuals, most of which, in essence, say that foldables are dogs to paddle and that you should only get one as a last resort because you have no place to store a hardshell or you plan to do a lot of air travel. Such conventional wisdom aside, foldability is far from the only thing going for these versatile boats. First, they are inherently seaworthy by design.
